KAIST is in Daejeon, 140 kilometers (90 miles) south of Seoul.
1) Airport Limousine bus
The bus leaves the airport at regular intervals, from bus stop 1st Floor 9D. There will be a short break at a highway resting area before getting to Daejeon.

2) By Train
There are three kinds of trains in Korea. KTX is the high-speed train with very comfortable seats, which also is the most expensive one. Saemaeul-ho and Mugunghwa-ho are ordinary trains but tickets are much cheaper. There are two railway stations in Daejeon: Daejeon Station and Seodaejeon(West Daejeon) Station.
You can ride a train in Incheon International Airport Station or Seoul Station to get to Daejeon. However, there are less trains from Incheon International Airport Station than there are from Seoul Station. To get to Seoul Station, you can use subway(METRO).
After you get the Daejeon station, you can use 1) taxi all the way (takes 20minutes, and $10 or 11,000won) or 2) Daejeon Metro to the Government Complex Building (정부종합청사), then follow above instructions.
You can reserve the train tickets from here.
3) Others
There are some other ways to get to Korea, e.g., Cheongju International Airport (IATA: CJJ, ICAO: RKTU) or Gimhae International Airport (IATA: PUS, ICAO: RKPK)
If you are to use one of the two above airports, it will be convenient to take Train to Daejeon station.
From the contest place, about 8 USD away by taxi, there are many hotels/motels/inns and one youth hostel besides a spa. (Yousung Spa Area)
